One of New Zealand's premier concert halls, the Michael Fowler Centre Auditorium reflects sound evenly throughout the room. Spacious foyers lead to the 2209 tiered-seat Auditorium and the adjustable stage makes this venue ideal for a range of performing arts events, conferences, graduations and seminars.
With space for 1035 in classroom style this venue can be easily fitted with classroom tablets in the stalls to turn the hall into a major plenary area. When not in use for conferences or concerts, the stage makes a unique setting for small banquets; diners get to experience the theatre ambience not normally encountered beyond the footlights.
Included in the venue rental are seven dressing rooms, Upper and Lower Promenades and the Frank Taplin Room.
In addition to the venue rental, there will be charges for catering requirements, technical equipment and labour (front-of-house or security staff may be required for certain events if the venue deems this necessary and are on additional charge. Staff have a minimum four hour call out and are required to fulfil all health and safety and fire regulation requirements). A detailed estimate of cost can be prepared upon request.
